I trust that all have had a Wonderful Christmas Holiday and a Great New Year Celebration. We go to great lengths to fund a holiday and give gifts to people who have everything at their fingertips. With most of the gifts being thrown into the closet and forgotten till spring cleaning rolls around. But many people don’t have that privilege to be spoiled from family members and have their closets full of gifts of Christmas past.
Millions of people ( woman and men alike ) are locked up behind steel barred doors and barbed wire fences with gun towers every so often with men armed with weapons who will shoot to kill if they try to gain freedom by way of escape. I often wonder why so many people of a society are locked up, with many facing a life sentence.
Why do people do the things they do knowing that they will serve a long time behind bars possibly even life, if they get caught doing this deed? That’s when the Lord took me to one of my favorite scriptures because it speaks so strongly toward my life.
Let us read in John 8:1-5 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
The Son of God was teaching the people (as we have preachers of today teaching the Word of God) and they brought some woman who was not in the audience of the word, she wasn’t a church attendee. She was taken in the very act of Adultery, but she was a Hebrew and lived there and knew the laws of Moses. Every one knew the Law of Moses in those days it was taught to all the children all through their lives and everyone knew that to be caught committing adultery was a cause to be stoned to death by the religious rulers of Israel. (Lev.20:10) Why would a woman be willing to do such a deed with her body, knowing if she’s caught she will be stoned to death? What within her is so strong with desire that she is willing to gamble her very life to appease the desire? SIN“.
Many people are addicted to SIN and the pleasures it brings to the flesh. Its craves and temptations lure the simple ones into its death grip and the only thing that is desirous and appealing is the fulfillment of that sinful desire. A man can swear on his mama’s grave that he will quit drinking, doing drugs, but when the pay check hit’s the pocket a stronger desire than him starts eating at him. The thought of life in prison or even eternal hell or several years away from their families don’t even enter the picture, just fulfillment. People loose wife, children and homes careers and life itself, to indulge into sin. The way we are raised, the people we associate with, the sinful practices we have indulged into all our life fashion our lusts and desires and the flesh craves these desires. The woman was caught because she was being driven by a lustful desire. She was in the fulfillment part of her sinful desires and got brought before the Lord expecting to receive the force of the Law of Moses, Death! But she found the Gods Love and Grace and Forgiveness, knowing that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God there was none who could throw the first stone. But after all were gone from their own convictions Jesus said “Where are those thine accusers, and no man was to be found, and he said “Neither do I condemn thee.. Go, and “Sin No More”.
This illustration shows that it is impossible to live without sin, unless we go through Jesus Christ who will forgive us and give us the ability to go, and sin no more. We cannot cease from sinful desires with out the Sanctifying power of Jesus blood. People are behind bars because they have no other choice but to serve sin until they meet with the Master Teacher and Lord of all. It is our responsibility to take Christ into the Jails and Prisons and hedges and highways and compel them to come to the One who can deliver from the power of sins bondage. Sin is stronger than the fear of being stoned to death, or the fear of serving life on death row for our fulfillment. But Jesus Christ is Stronger than all sin put together. I wonder if Gods people would get out and witness in the prisons and jails and spread the word and teach the sinners the way of the Lord, if we would have so many people within prison today as we have. People have no other choice but to serve sin, until someone takes them to Jesus to receive forgiveness and grace to live without sin. Even though the religious rulers took the woman to Jesus, they were not worthy to condemn her of her sins, they had sin of their own. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Don‘t condemn those behind bars of their sinfulness, Go and Lead them to The Savior, teaching them whatsoever he has taught you because they can‘t stop what their doing, till you do what he has told you to do. The woman who was caught in the very act of adultery couldn’t stop her self because she was condemned by the religious leaders, it took meeting The Lord Himself. Going to Church is good, but it doesn’t cleanse the soul from sin. Only the blood of Jesus Christ washes away sin from the soul and makes us able to go, and sin no more. People If you are sinning put your trust in JESUS CHRIST. Repent of your sins and turn your hearts desires to God and be Born-Again of the Spirit. Then and only then can you stop your sinful ways. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sin might be pleasurable for a season, but their will come a day when pay day of God comes to all mankind. Wages of sin is death, spiritual death now and separation from God, and physical death later and forever tormented in hells flames still separated from the presence of God.
