The Church of God Prison Ministry Team.... has been conducting services on Sunday and Tuesday nights at Georgia State Prison in Reidsville Ga. The inmates come with a zeal for God and a good Spirit of Worship. Today we were low in attendance with only 23 at Service, but God was surely in that place this morning. We started with Prayer Requests and went right on into the Song Service. After a few encores of the last song, it was hard to just stop singing and get into the word so, we hit another chorus on the song and the men were clapping and singing and praising God and we just couldn't stop praising that name of Jesus Christ.
I finally got into the message on Counterfeit Kingdoms and God sure helped me with the message too. We have been running around 30 men each Service and 23 was a low attendance for us. Each Service the men come in with an attitude of Worship and Praise, High Spirits of joy and gratitude and smiles upon their faces eager to shake hands and greet the brethren with a handshake of fellowship. It’s hard to believe that such joy and good attitudes and friendship could proceed from a place like a level six prison. But it amazes me how much joy and good spirits show forth from men who should be in a state of gloom despair and agony on me in this type of place, I‘m talking about "Prison", Gun towers, barrbed wire fences, and security guards everywhere and living within an 8x10 feet cell with bars and have lost your freedom too. That is as terrible of a place that you would ever want to live. But... I see free Christian people, who can go anywhere, do anything they want, and eat anywhere they choose come to Church with a gloom and doom look and an attitude that makes you wish "YOU" had stayed home that day.
These men show forth the Praises of God and the True Christian attitude that all things work together for the good, and Praise God for all things type of mentality and heart. John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. KJV If God can set these men who have reason to be in the mulligrubs free from the gloom and despair of this world, surely he can do the same for us. Take your eyes off the troubled waters, take your confidence off of man, and put your eyes and trust upon Jesus Christ, for He will bring The Church of God, and all who believe in his name, through the fire and Set His affection upon us once again.
NOW! Ain’t that something to smile about?
Please pray for the men and woman within the walls of the prison systems of America. They face hardship every day and suffer every minute for their sin. Let us forgive them as we would want our Heavenly Father to forgive us of our sins, Jesus didn't come to save the righteous, he came to save sinners and set the captives free. God Bless You,
