Baptism at Georgia State Prison

The Church of God Prison Ministry Team Testimony....

Tuesday Night , May 30th, I went to the prison as usual expecting to preach and have Service. When I got there the Chaplain met me, and said, “We’re going to have Baptism Service tonight“. He didn’t tell me anything else. He said “Its a Surprise, I didn’t call you because I wanted to Surprise you. ( His surprise was, He was going to let me Baptize some men too.)

When I walked into the Chapel, there were 48 men standing, singing clapping, and worshiping the God of Heaven. I was overwhelmed of the sight and the worship that was going on in that place. We sang a few songs more, then the Chaplain called up the men who were going to be Baptized, 15 men, came forth to be Baptized in water. ( They have a BIG box, and it’s a portable baptismal pool right in the Chapel Building.) So, We began Baptizing men, and singing and praying. As I was praying and laying these men down into the water, I felt the Love of God so strong and the Spirit was so heavy upon me, I felt as if The Lord was right their within our midst. It was so awesome to see so many inmates being baptized, and after they got out and dried off, they were hugging each other and praising God. I Baptized seven men that night, and the Chaplain Baptized eight. Each professing to the men at GSP and to all the world, I died with Christ and rose up in newness of life a Child of God

My attendance went from low 20’s to 40 in Service. Tuesday night I started teaching Sunday School lessons again, after being out of town working. 40 men came and God anointed me to teach the word and feed his sheep. I can not begin to tell you in words how my heart is rejoicing and my soul is blessed to see the men at GSP come to worship and listen in Sunday School . If we do not plow, if we do not plant, if we do nothing, our harvest will be just that, NOTHING! But, If we would plow, plant, water and cultivate, and work the field through the heat and the cold, through trials and temptation, our God will bring the increase, and our barns will be full, of the blessings of God, “Redeemed Souls of Sinners, Born Again“.

Please pray for the men at Georgia State Prison, and

“The Church of God Prison Ministry Team.”
